Project update: location decided
We’re pleased to announce that after careful consideration of your feedback, the new standalone public toilet at Glen Waverley North Reserve will be located at site A.
Many people chose Option A due to its safer and more central and accessible location, citing its proximity to the playground and recreation areas of the reserve, as well as being further away from Chesterville Road.
We’ll also position the facility further away from the shelter than originally proposed, in response to feedback regarding obstructed views of the garden and potential odour issues. We’ll add landscaping to maintain garden views, and the facility will be a regularly serviced, automated toilet to help manage odour concerns.
Construction is scheduled to finish by 30 June 2026. Local residents will receive a letter closer to construction advising of project timelines and any impacts to them.
Thank you to everyone who provided feedback. We appreciate your input and look forward to delivering a facility that improves the reserve for the community.

Project background
In early 2025, we sought community feedback on a new accessible standalone public toilet with privacy screens at Glen Waverley North Reserve.
This toilet will improve the reserve's accessibility and allow people of all abilities to stay longer at the reserve and enjoy its playground, barbecue and picnic area, fitness equipment, sports areas and open space.
We proposed two potential locations for the public toilet (see the aerial photo), taking into consideration existing utility connections and our design principles for cleanliness, access and safety.
Please refer to the FAQs section for more information about this project.
Feedback was sought by Friday 28 February 2025.
