Community engagement has been undertaken on the proposal for a cycling connection between Scotchmans Creek Trail and Djerring Trail, and more specifically to obtain comment on the particulars of the Atkinson Street Trial Demonstration Cycleway and the Hanover Street Dedicated Cycleway.

Feedback on the proposal has been generally positive. There is clear interest from the community in seeing two major cycling routes connected by a well-planned safe cycling link.

The feedback was received from cyclists, motorists and residents and included issues raised around safety and logistics. Suggestions and alternatives to improve the proposal were also received.

At its meeting of 28 June 2022, Council supported the recommendation that further investigation of the feedback, refinement of design options and subsequent engagement be undertaken to ensure that the community concerns are addressed.
