Masterplan projects are progressing

14 August 2024

As part of the delivery of the Mount Waverley Reserve Masterplan, the sports field and lighting works are now complete.

While grass is establishing, the sports field is likely to remain closed for community use until December 2024. The perimeter pathway, however, is expected to open in the coming weeks, providing more opportunities for residents to stay active.

The upgraded playspace is also finished and open for the community to enjoy.

The pavilion development is currently underway, with the old building now demolished and the bulk earthworks nearing completion. If all goes to plan, the pavilion should be ready by the end of July 2025.

Melbourne Water works within the reserve will conclude by the end of October 2024, clearing the way for the commencement of the new cricket training nets. Construction of the state-of-the-art cricket training facility is scheduled to begin in November and should be completed by the end of March 2025. It will feature six turf training strips and five synthetic training wickets.

The masterplan is taking shape across the reserve, thanks to support from the Australian and Victorian Governments, Cricket Australia, the Australian Football League, Waverley Blues Football Club and Mount Waverley Cricket Club.
