Major components reaching completion

26 June 2025

Exciting progress continues at Mount Waverley Reserve as key projects from the reserve masterplan move towards completion.

Following the redevelopment of the sports oval, upgrading of flood lighting and construction of a perimeter pathway; as well as the completion and opening of a redeveloped playspace; the new cricket nets have now been completed, with the synthetic surfaces expected to be open to the community within the next week.

The new cricket nets include six (6) turf and five (5) synthetic wickets, offering improved facilities for the local cricket club and the broader community. The project also includes a storage shed for the club and for Council’s horticulture team.

The new public toilet has been installed and is awaiting the necessary power upgrade by United Energy before it can be opened to the public. Once operational, the old public toilet will be demolished.

The pavilion upgrade continues to progress on schedule, with completion expected in July.

New car park designs have also been completed, with this section of the masterplan going out for tender in the coming weeks.

The project budget of $9.3M includes a $7M commitment from the Australian Government, $2.2M from Council and $100,000 from the tenant clubs.
