We know how important our waste services are to you, and we're committed to making sure they meet your needs. That's why we're inviting your feedback on 2 key parts of our service.

Hard waste

How do you want your hard waste collected? During a week set by Council as it is now, or booked for a time that suits you?

The amount you can dispose of won't change, just the way we collect it from 2027 onwards. Your 2026 service will stay the same.

  • Option 1: Scheduled hard waste

    Current service

    • Council sets the date for your area.
    • Once a year.
    • Can put out 4m³ (same as now).

  • Option 2: Booked hard waste

    Alternative service

    • You can book a date that suits you.
    • Once a year OR 2 smaller collections a year.
    • Can put out 4m³ once (same as now) OR 2m³ twice.

Glass bins

The Victorian Government has instructed all councils to introduce a separate bin for glass collection by 2027.

Do you prefer a taller (120L) or shorter (80L) glass bin?

Both options take up the same amount of space on the ground, but one is taller than the other. The glass bin will be collected every 4 weeks.

We know many people in our community do not want a glass bin. We will continue to advocate to the Victorian Government to delay the rollout.
