Playspace upgrade coming to Gladeswood Reserve 2026/27

25 June 2026

Council receives funding for Gladeswood Reserve to be relocated to the southern area of the reserve and expanded into a district-level playspace for all ages and abilities.

What's coming this year

  • An inclusive and accessible playspace
  • A dedicated toddler area
  • Shaded areas
  • Sustainable landscaping
  • A nature play trail and forest area for informal play
  • Sensory play elements

What will be delivered in future stages

To deliver the highest-priority improvements now, some elements shared in the draft concept design will be delivered in future stages. These include:

  • BBQ facilities
  • Shelter
  • Fitness hub
  • Multi-sport court
  • Public toilet

These elements will be considered in future Council budget processes, and we will continue to explore other funding opportunities.

What happens next

Local residents will receive updates, including letters, closer to the start of construction on any impacts.

Monash is investing in better outdoor spaces for our community, with $3 million in Council’s 2026/27 budget for new playspaces at Princes Highway Reserve in Oakleigh East, Gladeswood Reserve in Mulgrave and Queens Parade Reserve in Ashwood.

This upgrade is supported by $678,650 from round one of the Victorian Government’s Pick My Park program.

These projects will create more inclusive, accessible and engaging places for people of all ages to play, connect and spend time outdoors.
