Council has developed a draft Climate Resilience Plan, which will replace its Environmental Sustainability Strategy and Zero Net Carbon Action Plan.
The plan outlines how we will work with our community to respond to the impacts of a changing climate, future-proof our places and spaces and continue to reduce our emissions.
Our goal is to ensure Monash is better prepared to adapt and thrive in a changing climate.
Work together to ensure a coordinated response to climate impacts.
Continue educating our community on climate resilience and emission reduction.
Protect and improve our natural places and spaces, enhance livability and biodiversity, and support community wellbeing.
Continue to reduce Council emissions through efficient operations that avoid and minimise waste and promote reuse and repair.
Design and manage Council assets so they are more resilient to extreme weather events and a changing climate.
We are inviting you to provide your feedback on what is important to you in working towards a more climate resilient Monash.
You can read our Draft Climate Resilience Plan by downloading a copy from our document library.
Complete the survey below for your chance to win 1 of 3 $100 waste disposal vouchers, which can be redeemed at the Monash Recycling and Waste Centre or 1 of 2 Free Home Energy Assessments.
Click the 'follow' button at the top of this page to be kept-up-to-date about the plan.
We want to know whether the draft plan has the right focus for Council and community so we are better prepared to adapt and thrive in a changing climate.
Your feedback will be considered to help us finalise the plan before going to Council for final adoption.
You can provide your feedback by completing the online survey by Sunday 5 April.
