Following community engagement earlier this year, we have finalised the sportsground lighting designs for Carlson Reserve.

We will install 7 new sportsground lighting poles with LED fittings, ensuring compliance with Australian Standard AS4282-2023 for obtrusive lighting.

The LED lighting is more sustainable and energy-efficient, and the smart technology ensures the light is better directed towards the sports surface, minimising spillover into neighbouring properties and impact on the local wildlife.

Other objectives of this project are to:

• ensure Council grounds are well maintained and can accommodate the rising rates of community participation
• enable flexible use of the entire sportsground
• upgrade ageing infrastructure and comply with relevant standards.

The new lighting levels will comply with Australian Standards for community soccer, enhancing the safety of those participating.

Please note, the sportsground lighting will only be operational on the days and hours specified in each tenant club’s usage agreement and will be limited to before 10pm on weekdays and 6pm on weekends.
