You're invited: First Nations Mural launch

Monash Council is thrilled to invite you to celebrate our First Nations mural in Oakleigh.

Titled Nanyubak, the mural painted by Gunditjmara, Yorta Yorta and Wemba Wemba artist Tom Day, brings to life Bunjil the Eagle and Waa the Crow, protecting the Kulin Nation and watching over the gentle teal flow of Scotchmans Creek. Gum leaves encircle, welcoming all to the lands of the Traditional Owners, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung People.

The event will include a Welcome to Country, Smoking Ceremony and speeches from: The Hon Steve Dimopoulos MP, Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events, Minister for Environment and Minister for Outdoor Recreation and Member for Oakleigh; Mayor of Monash Cr Nicky Luo; and mural artist Tom Day.
