We are progressing on designs for a new pocket playspace near the corner of Centre and Carinish Roads in Clayton.

Centre Road West Skyrail Playspace will be located along the elevated railway line, to the west of the public multi-sport courts opened by the Victorian Government in 2019.

Final concept design

We are pleased to share the final design for this playspace, which incorporates community feedback from our consultation on the draft concept design in November 2020.

After working with the Victorian Government’s Level Crossing Removal Authority, VicTrack and Metro Trains, we have refined the plan with the following proposed play elements:

  • Triple swing set with nest swing
  • Mound slide
  • Interactive play panel
  • Spinner bowl
  • Children’s picnic play set.

We will also install a picnic table and bench seats, as well as looking to plant additional trees.

Please note that images of play elements are indicative rather than a precise specification. Some proposed play elements may change subject to budget.

What happens next?

This design will soon be presented to Metro Trains for their approval. Pending that approval, budget for construction will be considered by Council as part of the 2025/26 annual budget process. You will receive a letter closer to construction if funding is approved.
