What is Amendment C173?

This amendment implements the Huntingdale Precinct Plan 2023 (adopted 2020) by:

  • Replacing the existing Design and Development Overlay (DDO1) with new Design and Development Overlays (DDO20 & DDO21) to facilitate development in industrial, commercial and mixed use areas of between 3 and 8 storeys.
  • Rezoning a limited number of industrial properties within the commercial core and near the train station to the Commercial 1 Zone, and applying the Environmental Audit Overlay.
  • Rezoning residential land along Huntingdale Road to the Mixed Use Zone (MUZ4).
  • Changes the other residential land within the precinct boundaries to a new schedule to the General Residential Zone Schedule (GRZ12) - with no change to the existing setback and height requirements.
  • A new planning policy for the precinct to support decision-making.
  • Other minor administrative and policy changes.

Submissions process

The amendment was on exhibition and the closing date for submissions was Monday 1 July 2024. Further information about the submission process, including privacy and public availability requirements is available here.


Planning Panel appointed

An independent Planning Panel was appointed and a hearing was held on Monday 11 and Tuesday 12 November 2024.
